Disability Awareness Training Videos
Citizens for Accessible Neighbourhoods was very proud to have a role in the 2009 Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows B.C. Disability Games. As part of our role in the games, Heather McCain, C.A.N.'s Executive Director, created two disability awareness seminars for the volunteers. These seminars were well received and Heather was asked by the B.C Disability Games Society to put the seminars on film. As we are a partner member of the B.C. Disability Games Society and always glad to work on a project with them we were pleased to agree. The following are the two disability awareness training videos that came from our partnership.
The first video provides ten tips for interacting with athletes/people with a disability.
The second video provides advice about terminology and proper/improper word usage associated with athletes/people with disabilities.
Citizens for Accessible Neighbourhoods offers disability awareness training, seminars, and hand-outs. If you are interested in our services please contact us by:
