Meets the first Thursday of every month from 7:00pm-9:00pm, in the Preschool Room at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre. This group is for those who want to educate themselves about the many social, medical, and emotional aspects of living with chronic pain. We offer strength, support, and an opportunity to share your experiences in a friendly, nonjudgmental environment.

Ridge Meadows Stroke Recovery Program
The Ridge Meadows Stroke Recovery Program offers a therapeutic program for people who have had a stroke (C.V.A. / brain attack) and their families who come together for mutual support, information, therapeutic activities and enjoyment. Only those who have personally experienced stroke can fully understand your problems, frustrations and needs and many of our volunteers are Stroke Survivors themselves.The program serves residents living in Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge who have survived a stroke. Participants of any age are welcome. Transportation is arranged through HandyDART for those unable to travel independently. A support group for people and their families living with cancer, pain and or other debilitating physical or mental illnesses. The group is drop in but all first time participants need to call Jean Ruttan first at 604-462-7794 for an orientation.
Meets second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at the Family Education Centre (22554 Lougheed Hwy). The group does not meet in August.

- Relaxation Circle
The Relaxation Circle is a resource for people who are living with a life-threatening illness and/or their support persons. This Circle provides an opportunity to experience relaxation, to receive support and to learn stress management skills that can be used to assist coping with everyday life. All sessions are free of charge. Everything that you need will be provided including pillows, blankets, slippers, and foam mats. Comfortable clothing is recommended. During each session, participants will experience a 30 minute introductory circle, a 45 minute experiential segment including relaxation approaches such as breath work, imagery, affirmations, sound/music, and soothing touch, and a 15 minute closing circle.

Are you providing care for a friend or family member at home or in a facility? This Group will provide an opportunity for you to:
- Share with other caregivers.
- Learn about issues such as stress/burnout, communication, tips, living with grief and loss.
- Learn about community resources.
- Develop a social and support network.
- Attend presentations by guest speakers, healthcare professionals, and relaxation specialists.

The Families Supporting Families support group program is a place where all parents and caregivers, including teen and young parents, single mom’s and parents of teens, can meet and discuss the issues and challenges of raising children in today’s busy world. Our self-help groups are led by a trained facilitator and provide parenting information in a nonjudgmental atmosphere. (Integrated Youth Home Detox, Support and Aftercare Pilot Project)
The MATRIX, an Integrated Youth Home Detox, Support and Aftercare Pilot Project for youth 16 to 24 years old, is pleased to announce that Corrine Arthur, a family support specialist, is available to provide services for family members affected by substance misuse. This can include: crisis intervention; one-to-one counselling; assessment & referrals; group/peer support; psycho-education; family reunification. All services are free, confidential, and mobile- the service will come to you or to a mutually agreed upon location.

- Woman's Work
Alouette Addictions Services is now offering a new drop in group (no referral needed) called Woman's Work. It runs 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays at 22477 Lougheed Highway. This group supports women whose lives are affected by addiction. It includes the topics anger from a woman's point of view, becoming more assertive, and overcoming addictive relationships.
There is assistance for child care available.
